Spring bear huntin | Bear | Forum

Every chance I get I put in for spring bear hunts close to home. I draw once every 5 years or so. I did it at first just to help out are elk calfs and fawns. Not for the meat… But after bagging one the meat was awesome. the majority I had done up in Italian hot sausage, and country sausage which was great. But the best thing was I got 2 of the hind quarters smoked and cured, then dropped them in the turkey frier after I injected them and they were the bomb. Just something to think about when the draws come around next year..
